The other day I had to have a blood test. It was one of those where you
have to fast for 12 hours before the test. Of course, I was at the door
of the pathology lab at opening time (I am a man who likes his
breakfast). Unfortunately, there were about a dozen others there for the
same reason.
During the half hour I had to wait my turn, I heard so many
complaints, abuse, etc. from the next room, it was unbelievable. I still
wonder at the wisdom of abusing a woman who is about to stick a sharp
object into your arm.
By the time I got in she was pretty stressed out, and this was only
Monday morning. I handed her one of the GOOHF cards I carry in my wallet.
She was overjoyed, and immediately stuck it on the notice board saying
"I'll definitely need that by lunchtime." I might add that the needle
didn't hurt a bit.
